THREE Whakatane archers were in top form at a major event last week.
Sebastian Ashburn, Mike Ashburn and Moira Lavender-Ashburn all claimed medals at the 45th Archery New Zealand National Indoor Championships in Palmerston North.
The individual target rounds included two rounds of 60 arrows each at 25 metres, taking aim at a 60-centimetre target face and two rounds of 60 arrows each at 18m on a 40cm target face. It took five-and-a-half hours to complete.
The following day the individual matchplay was shot and Sebastian won silver in both target and matchplay, Mike won bronze in the target event where Moira won gold.
